London signs new Middlesex contract

Adam London has signed a new one-year contract with Middlesex.

London, 24, was the top run scorer for the club’s second XI in 2012, notching almost 800 runs at an average of just under 40.

He has also posted three half-centuries in his nine first-class games.

“Despite a lack of first-team opportunities, Adam continues to impress,” said Middlesex’s managing director of cricket Angus Fraser.

“We all believe he has the game that will allow him to score runs in first-class cricket when opportunities come along.

“The retirement of Andrew Strauss and departure of Scott Newman and Tom Scollay means that Adam is more likely to feature in the first XI in 2013.

“Along with Paul Stirling, Adam Rossington and Josh Davey he will be competing for a batting slot should poor form or injury to other players come along.”
