Ireland duty rules out in-form Murtagh
Middlesex will be without the services of county cricket’s leading bowler when they take on Division One title rivals Durham this week.
Tim Murtagh, who has taken 30 wickets in five games this season, has been called up to play for Ireland against Pakistan in limited-overs matches on Thursday and Sunday.
He was the architect of Middlesex’s victory over Somerset last week, with 10 wickets in the match as his side moved back to the top of the table.
Murtagh’s place in the team at Chester-le-Street will go to West Indian Corey Collymore, who was rested for the win at Taunton, with Middlesex expected to be otherwise unchanged.
Adam Rossington and Tom Helm will travel with the squad as batting and bowling cover for the match, which begins on Wednesday.
