Middlesex 23pts, Sussex 4pts

Gareth Berg’s three dismissals helped Middlesex beat Sussex by 10 wickets at Lord’s.

Resuming their second innings trailing by 174 runs on 34-1, Sussex were 101-5 before lunch – still 126 behind – and Middlesex looked set for an early victory.

They were made to wait by a resilient half-century by Ben Brown as the visitors managed a total of 225.

Berg ended with 3-53, while Steve Finn also completed a second-innings three-wicket haul to put the hosts in a commanding position.

After being set a target of only 18, Middlesex clinched victory 40 minutes after tea.
