West Ham have rejected a bid from Fulham for Ravel Morrison, Rene Meulensteen has confirmed.
Fulham boss Meulensteen was part of Manchester United’s coaching team when the midfielder, 20, was at Old Trafford and is keen to sign him during this month’s transfer window.
The Dutchman added that he believes Morrison wants to make the move – and indicated that an improved offer could be tabled.
“We got knocked back – rejected,” Meulensteen said after his team’s FA Cup third-round replay win against Norwich.
“I’ve left it with [chief executive] Alistair Mackintosh and explained what I think of the situation.
“I’ve known him [Morrison] a long time. He’d bring youth, energy, unpredictability – lots of things. We’ll have to wait and see what happens.”
