Kit Symons says he is determined to see his side develop a more ruthless streak rather than become a football equivalent of the Harlem Globetrotters.
The Fulham boss was satisfied with the Whites’ opening-day 1-1 draw at Cardiff City and their pleasing style of football.
But he insisted that he will be looking for results rather than artistic merit in the weeks ahead.
“There was some real nice rotational movement, which we encourage,” he said.
“What we need now is a bit more of an end product. We need more shots at goal, more shots on target and more crosses into the box.
“We’re not the Harlem Globetrotters. We’re not just here to look nice. I want an end product as well.
“We are fully focused and have got some very talented footballers who want to play.
“We’ll always have that nice movement and nice play through central areas, but we want a little bit more of a cutting edge to go with it.
“I’m pleased with the performance overall. There’s improvements to be done, but we’ll get there.”
Fulham were denied a win by a stunning late equaliser by Cardiff substitute Craig Noone.
“Overall, a draw was probably a fair result, but at 1-0 we had one or two very good chances,” Symons said.
“And when it went one-all, we had a great chance for Ross McCormack at the end to go and win it.”
