Watford boss confident of victory over Fulham
Watford boss Javier Gracia believes his side can surprise Fulham on Saturday.
The Hornets saw their perfect start to the new campaign ended with a 2-1 home defeat by Manchester United last weekend.
Gracia’s well-drilled side, though, will be out to keep themselves up with the early-season pacesetters when they head to Craven Cottage for Saturday’s lunchtime kick-off.
Fulham went down 3-0 at Manchester City as Slavisa Jokanovic’s men continue to find their feet following promotion back to the top flight.
“They are a good team, a first season in the Premier League after they were promoted, they have a well-organised team,” Gracia said at a press conference.
“They know what they have to do and we will try to surprise them. I am confident we are able to get a good result and get the three points.”
Jokanovic took Watford into the Premier League at the end of the 2014/2015 campaign, only to then leave the Hertfordshire club in the summer after failing to agree a new permanent deal.
Gracia has nothing but admiration for the Serbian, whom he faced on the pitch during their playing career in Spain.
“I played against him sometimes and he was, in my opinion, a very good player,” the Watford manager said.
“As a coach, I stay with him next Saturday (now on the touchline) and we will see what happens.”
