Sheffield Wednesday head coach Carlos Carvalhal insisted his team fully deserved their 1-0 win at Fulham.
The home side had most of the possession in their first match under new boss Slavisa Jokanovic.
But Carvalhal said: “I think we deserved the victory, absolutely.
“We scored when Fulham were in control of the game but after the goal a lot changed and in the second half we created three or four clear chances.
“When you put a team out with Nuhiu, Hooper, Forestieri, Wallace and Bannan it means you want to win the game, and in my opinion we deserved to.”
Ross Wallace secured the points for Wednesday with a brilliant long-range strike in the 29th minute.
Carvalhal revealed: “I was joking with him this week. I said in front of all the players that there was a player called Ross Wallace who used to score from free-kicks for Celtic about 25 years ago.
“I was joking, because it was not 25 years. He can do that kind of thing.”
