Bryan Ruiz is set to be offered a way back in at Fulham under caretaker boss Kit Symons.
The Costa Rica attacker had been frozen out under previous manager Felix Magath, who was sacked on Thursday with the club bottom of the Championship.
He has not featured in a single matchday squad this season but Symons telephoned the player after being placed in charge and says he is relishing the chance to work with Ruiz.
“I had conversations with a few players last night and Bryan was one of them – he’s a fantastic footballer,” Symons said.
“In the conversation we had last night he was very upbeat and positive and that’s a great start in my book.
“I was delighted with the conversation and I’m looking forward to seeing him in training.”
Ruiz, who impressed at the World Cup this summer as Costa Rica reached the quarter-finals, has made 75 appearances for Fulham since joining from FC Twente in 2011.
