Fulham 5 Wolves 0
Craven Cottage cult hero Pavel Pogrebnyak scored a hat-trick as Fulham produced a brilliant display – and another deluge of goals.
The Whites, who netted six at home to QPR and five against Newcastle, demolished relegation-threatened Wolves with some delightful football and took advantage of some woeful defending.
Russian striker Pogrebnyak, a deadline-day signing from Stuttgart, has now netted five times in three matches for his new club, while Clint Dempsey bagged a brace to take his goal tally for the season to 18.
Pogrebnyak was unmarked when he headed home Damien Duff’s 36th-minute corner and he got on the scoresheet again shortly before half-time.
That second goal effectively killed off the visitors, who were undone when Kevin Foley gave the ball away in midfield and Andrew Johnson raced down the right before picking out Pogrebnyak, who found the top corner.
Worse followed for Wolves after the break when the outstanding Dempsey made it three.
The American ran onto Danny Murphy’s lovely through ball, went past goalkeeper Wayne Hennessy, and blasted in.
Not to be upstaged, Pogrebyank tapped in his third after Hennessy had parried Johnson’s shot.
Johnson then hit the woodwork with a glorious 25-yard effort, before recent signing Mahamadou Diarra was brought off the bench for his Fulham debut.
And former Real Madrid midfielder Diarra was involved in the fifth goal.
He rounded off a fine team move by threading a perfect ball through for Dempsey, who smashed his shot beyond Hennessy.
