Scott Parker insists Fulham’s players must shoulder some of the responsibility for their woeful start to the season.
Felix Magath was sacked as manager last week with the club bottom of the Champiomship and their first game under caretaker boss Kit Symons ended in a 1-0 defeat against Blackburn on Saturday.
Whites midfielder Parker said: “Managers are the ones that take the flack but we have to look at ourselves as players.
“As much as Felix has taken the brunt of it, we haven’t been good enough at times this year.
“Every manager has different styles and philosophies. Felix was different to all the other managers I’ve had but we as players need to take responsibility.”
Fulham’s Under-21 boss Symons has made it clear he wants to be given the manager’s job on a permanent basis.
“Kit’s been here a long while and has an understanding of what this club is about,” said Parker.
“At this present moment in time it’s something that’s needed here and I wish him well. Hopefully he will do well and we will pick up some results.
“There was an improvement against Blackburn. A new manager comes in and you get a bit of a lift.
“I’m sure over the next few weeks he will put his stamp on things and we will have a better idea of things going forward.
“We need to pick up some results because games are ticking on now. Hopefully we can turn the corner.”
