Parker returns to Fulham as first-team coach
Scott Parker has returned to Fulham as first-team coach.
Former England international Parker hung up his boots in 2017 following a four-year spell at Fulham, during which time he was also captain of the club.
Since then he has been working in the youth set-up at Tottenham, another of his former clubs, but will return to Craven Cottage to link up with manager Slavisa Jokanovic.
Parker, who was crowned Football Writers’ Footballer of the Year in 2011 while at West Ham, is looking forward to getting to work.
“I’m delighted to join the club this week and look forward to working with Slavisa once again, as well as with the rest of the coaching staff and players,” he told Fulham’s website.
“I would like to thank everyone at Tottenham Hotspur for their support and encouragement at the very start of my coaching career with the Under-18s throughout last season, in particular John McDermott for his guidance and ongoing support.
“I’m looking forward now to the next step up, coaching the first-team at Fulham.”
Parker will be tasked with playing his part in Fulham’s bid to avoid relegation having sealed their return to the Premier League following a four-year stint in the Championship.
He added: “I have first-hand knowledge of the quality and ambition at the club since I was a player here, with tremendous work carried out by staff within the first-team set up and across all academy age groups.
“I’m looking forward to getting started right away in preparation for the Premier League campaign.”
