Parker praises Elliott after Fulham teenager makes history
Scott Parker praised Harvey Elliott after the Fulham teenager became the youngest Premier League player.
Elliott, at 16 years and 30 days, came on in the 88th minute of the Whites’ 1-0 defeat at Wolves.
Former Fulham left-back Matthew Briggs held the previous record, set on 13 May 2007, when he play aged 16 years and 68 days.
“He’s been outstanding in training over the past three weeks,” said Fulham caretaker boss Parker.
“He’s a special talent and we want to nurture him the best we can.”
Leander Dendoncker’s volley with 15 minutes remaining condemned relegated Fulham to defeat.
Earlier, Dendoncker hit the bar with a header and Aleksandar Mitrovic missed a great chance for the visitors after being set up by Ryan Sessegnon.
“It’s a tough place to come here but I felt we dominated the ball today,” Parker said.
