Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen felt his side’s 4-1 defeat against Everton did not reflect the quality of their performance at Goodison Park.
Dimitar Berbatov’s penalty cancelled out Leon Osman’s first-half strike, but three goals in the final 17 minutes sealed victory for the hosts.
The result was a disappointment for the struggling Whites following the improved showing against Aston Villa, but there were more signs of improvement, especially in the second half.
“In the first half Everton played some good stuff and deserved to be 1-0 up but the way we played in the second half was brilliant,” Meulensteen said.
“But their second goal killed us and that was a shame. We said we had to be a bit more positive and we had chances, played some good stuff and then got the equaliser.
“Everton are bursting with confidence and when they had chances they took them.”
