McCormack rescues a point for Fulham at Reading

Reading 2 Fulham 2

Ross McCormack’s second-half penalty rescued a point for Fulham at the Madejski Stadium.

Moussa Dembele gave them an early lead by scoring after Michael Madl headed McCormack’s header into the Frenchman’s path.

Hal Robson-Kanu netted twice to put Reading ahead before half-time, slotting home a penalty after being needlessly fouled by Fernando Amorebieta and then heading home Ols John’s cross.

But McCormack hauled Fulham level when they were awarded a penalty of their own seven minutes after the interval.

Ryan Fredericks was fouled by Jake Cooper and McCormack stepped up to score his 19th goal of the season.

Keeper Andy Lonergan prevented Reading regaining the lead by twice denying John with good saves.

The result moved Fulham up a place in the Championship table, to 19th, but they are just five points above the relegation zone.
