Fulham draw with Villarreal in friendly

New signing Kevin Mbabu set up a late equaliser for Aleksandar Mitrovic as Fulham drew 1-1 with Villarreal in a pre-season friendly at Craven Cottage.

Villarreal took the lead against the run of play in the first half through a great strike from former QPR midfielder Dani Parejo.

Fulham should have equalised shortly after the restart when Andreas Pereira found Bobby De Cordova-Reid before he squared for Mitrovic, whose powerful effort from close range cannoned off the crossbar.

Substitute Nicolas Jackson then spurned a good chance to make it two for the away side as he slotted wide when one versus one with keeper Marek Rodak.

But Fulham had their equaliser with four minutes remaining when Mitrovic turned in Mbabu’s low cross from close range.
