Magath rues errors after Fulham draw
Fulham boss Felix Magath admitted his side made too many mistakes to warrant victory after West Brom grabbed a late equaliser in his first game in charge.
Ashkan Dejagah’s goal just before the half hour mark looked to have earned the Whites their first Premier League victory since New Year’s Day until Matej Vydra’s 86th minute shot slipped through keeper Maarten Stekelenburg’s grasp.
The draw leaves Fulham rooted to the foot of the Premier League, four points adrift of safety with 11 games to play.
Former Bayern Munich boss Magath said: “We were so near to a victory.
“We are disappointed but in the whole game, 1-1 was correct. It was a fair result.
“We have had only a few days together. You cannot change many things.
“I crossed the fingers but that is not enough.
“We have to play 90 minutes and try to make no faults. We made too many faults in the second half.
“We lost the ball too early and came under pressure. If you get under pressure, one mistake will cost you a goal.
“We were away and I think it was not very good but a point is good.”
