Magath: Bent is not finished at Fulham
Felix Magath says Darren Bent could still have a role to play at Fulham as they battle against relegation.
Bent has featured just twice since the German took charge at Craven Cottage in February, starting only in the defeat to Chelsea.
But manager Magath says the 30-year-old striker, who is nearing the end of his season-long loan from Aston Villa, has been missing because of a personal issues.
There have also been concerns over Bent’s fitness but Magath insisted he is ready to play in their crucial relegation clash with Norwich on Saturday.
“Darren had his chance – I used him from the beginning against Chelsea,” he said.
“Unfortunately in the last few weeks he has had some person issues – things have not been quiet around him – so I gave other players a chance.
“If I come here as a new manager I have to take care of all the players, not just Bent. I have to look at and give every player the chance to show me, the fans and the club how good he is.
“But Darren is fit and does not have personal issues this week so he will get another chance next time.”
