Fulham boss Martin Jol insists Darren Bent remains a threat despite the striker’s problems at Aston Villa this season.
Bent, who played under Jol at Tottenham, has been out of favour under Villa manager Paul Lambert.
But, speaking ahead of the Whites’ game against the West Midlands side, Jol said: “I know Darren. He is lethal – a goal poacher.”
Bent has been kept out of the Villa team by Christian Benteke – a player Jol was keen to sign last summer.
The Dutchman explained: “Benteke was on my list but we only wanted to pay a certain amount.
“Villa took the right gamble on Benteke. They paid some money for him – a lot of money for a player not known in England – but he did well.
“He has scored 14 or 15 goals and he has been an unbelievable player for them.”
