Hard work paid off, says Fulham boss

Rene Meulensteen was delighted to see his players’ hard work pay off against Norwich.

Fulham have been rejuvenated since the Dutchman took over and they battled back after going a goal down at Carrow Road, where Scott Parker’s late strike gave them a 2-1 victory.

“We have been working so hard since I took over and it was so important we got something today,” the Whites boss declared.

“I have worked with the players for a month, so I have a good idea of what they are capable of. Now we go to Hull with good confidence.”

A win at Hull on Saturday could take Fulham out of the relegation zone and would be another sign of their improvement under Meulensteen, who singled Parker out for praise after the midfielder’s winner against the Canaries.

He said: “His first touch was excellent and he struck it so quickly. He typifies the character of the team.”
