German defender Baumgatl undergoing Fulham medical

Germany Under-21 international defender Timo Baumgatl is undergoing a medical at Fulham ahead of a move from Dutch side PSV Eindhoven.

The 24-year-old centre-back will supply some much-needed defensive reinforcements for the Whites, who have shipped in 11 goals in four games since being promoted and are yet to register a point after four games.


Baumgatl came through the ranks at VFB Stuttgart before moving to PSV at the start of last season for £9m, but has failed to find a regular spot in the side.

If the deal goes through, Baumgatl will become the eighth new arrival at Craven Cottage since Scott Parker’s side beat Brentford in the play-off final in August.
