Fulham’s Smith extends Bristol City stay

Fulham striker Matt Smith has agreed to stay with League One high-flyers Bristol City for another month.

The 25-year-old has scored nine goals in 12 games in all competitions for Steve Cotterill’s side since joining them in November.

This latest deal extends his loan until 1 March, when the maximum 93-day period expires and he will return to Craven Cottage.

Smith joined Fulham on transfer deadline day but has played just 38 minutes in three appearances, and has already admitted his frustration at seeing his career with the Whites stall.
