Martin Jol admitted to being concerned about Fulham’s defending from set-pieces following the west London derby defeat against Chelsea.
The Whites have conceded a late goal from a corner in both their last two matches and manager Jol wants to see an immediate improvement.
He said: “The set-piece defending is a little bit of a concern.
“Today we didn’t have the real size in the first 11 and Pajtim Kasami had to mark John Terry. They have to learn and step up, especially these young players.
“But last week [against West Brom] it as was an old warhorse who didn’t attack the ball and that is so disappointing. We have to think to avoid that and we didn’t.”
Jol’s side remain winless since the opening-day victory at Sunderland and he admitted they badly need a victory in order to ease the tension.
“We’ve had three away games up until now and played Arsenal at home and we need to get a win to get back on track,” he said
“I think all the teams in the bottom half do. There are seven or eight teams that need to get out of there.
“We have to create a little more, especially on the left and the right – and we will in the future.
“The first half today was okay but we have to do a little more in away games to get results.”
