Birmingham City have rejected a bid from Fulham for striker Cameron Jerome.
Fulham are understood to have offered around £3m for the former England Under-21 international, who has three years remaining on his Blues contract.
Jerome, 24, has scored 41 goals in 201 appearances during his five years at Birmingham, who are struggling to keep their key players following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last season.
City recently turned down a bid for Jerome from Stoke and are believed to be willing to sell him if they receive an improved offer, but Fulham boss Martin Jol has hinted that he will not be making another approach.
Jol has admitted that his attacking options would be limited should forwards Andrew Johnson and Bobby Zamora pick up injuries.
Zamora recently suffered a broken hand, prompting Jol to step up his search for a striker, although the Dutchman expects him to be available for Thursday’s Europa League match against RNK Split.
Clint Dempsey and Mousa Dembele return to the squad after missing the first leg in Croatia, but Steve Sidwell is suspended.
