Fulham players are behind Jol, says Bent
Striker Darren Bent insists Fulham manager Martin Jol is the right man to take the club forward and has the backing of the players.
Jol’s position had fallen under intense scrutiny following a poor run of form that left the Whites with just four points from their opening six league games.
But a 1-0 victory at home to Stoke on Saturday eased the pressure on the Dutchman.
And Bent, on loan from Aston Villa, said: “All the players are behind him. He is the right man for the job and I am sure he will be around for many years to come.
“He was delighted with the victory, like we all were, but he was also relieved because in recent games we have played well but not got results.
“In this league you are always under pressure. As soon as a couple of results go against you, you are immediately under pressure. It’s probably the best league in the world and is probably the most difficult to get points.
“If we are not getting the results that people want then we are always going to come under fire.
“As long as everyone knows we are all behind Martin Jol and pulling in the right direction, then I am sure we will be fine.”
