Fulham U21s edged out by Villa

Fulham’s youngsters lost 1-0 to Aston Villa on Thursday afternoon in the Under-21 Premier League.

A first-half goal from Niall Mason, who finished well after being found by Tom Leggett’s cross, was enough for the hosts at their Bodymoor Heath training ground.

Fulham had created the better chances, but the impressive Viktor Johansson saved with his legs to deny Josh Walker, and Stephen Humphrys also missed a decent opportunity.

And in the second half, keeper Johansson produced fine saves to keep out Humphrys’ free-kick and a curling effort from Josh Smile.
