Fulham youngster Mattias Kait is hoping to follow in the footsteps of Ryan Sessegnon and break into the first team after signing a new deal.
The 18-year-old midfielder’s latest contract keeps him at Craven Cottage until the summer of 2019.
The Estonian international has been a regular in the Under-23s in his third season with the Whites – but has his eyes on a great prize.
He told Fulham’s official website: “My first aim of course is to get to the first-team squad.
“Training with them, getting onto the bench, and then getting my debut. That’s my first aim and then we will see what happens.
“Getting the contract has given me a lot of confidence so it’s a very good thing for me. I hope it is a reflection of how well I’ve been playing.
“I see my teammates being promoted to the first team and I think ‘why not?’. It can be anyone so I just need to keep working hard and maybe my time will come as well.”
