Fulham 0 Swansea 3
Gylfi Sigurdsson scored twice as Swansea stormed to a resounding victory at Craven Cottage.
Sigurdsson stooped to head home after Scott Sinclair had knocked Wayne Routledge’s right-wing cross into the Icelander’s path.
And he struck again midway through the second half, firing past keeper Mark Schwarzer after a neat one-two with Routledge.
Worse followed for Fulham when a horrible mistake by Philippe Senderos presented the ball to Sinclair, who played in Joe Allen for the third.
The result was a huge disappointment for Martin Jol’s side, who had won four and drawn one of their previous five home matches.
They were second best throughout and Swansea’s 36th-minute opener had been on the cards as Sigurdsson had fired narrowly wide and Schwarzer did well to deny Sinclair.
Fulham’s best opening of the first half came when Clint Dempsey’s effort was saved by keeper Michel Vorm.
The home side, with midfielder Mahamadou Diarra making his full debut in place of the injured Danny Murphy, continued to struggle to create chances after the break and fell further behind on 66 minutes.
Senderos then inexplicably gave the ball away to help Swansea to another goal, although Schwarzer should have kept out Allen’s shot.
To their credit, Fulham did not give up and they came close to pulling a goal back when Dempsey’s effort from the edge of the area was pushed on to the bar by Vorm.
