Kevin McDonald scored a rare goal and Aleksandar Mitrovic bagged his eighth for the club as Fulham closed the gap on second-placed Cardiff to five points.
Mitrovic’s goal-bound header went in via McDonald’s backside midway through the first half before the Serbian slotted home the second moments after Leeds should have equalised.
Caleb Ekuban was clean through but shot straight at Marcus Bettinelli – and then Fulham broke down the other end and finished off a ruthless counter-attack on 63 minutes.
Floyd Ayite also hit the post in a first half dominated by the Whites, while the recalled Ryan Sessegnon had good chances inside the box after the break.
Mitrovic has been red hot since signing on loan from Newcastle and he twice went close on the end of good crosses before inadvertently setting up McDonald for the midfielder’s second of the campaign.
Mitrovic accidentally diverted a goal-bound Sessegnon strike wide of the target early in the second half before the returning left winger forced a near-post save from Bailey Peacock-Farrell.
Leeds looked more dangerous after the break and Ekuban was distraught after he squandered their best chance of the game and watched the in-form Whites race away to put the game to bed.
In doing so, Slavisa Jokanovic’s side extended their formidable run to 18 games unbeaten, including 14 wins, with six games of the season remaining.
