Fulham are on the verge of completing the £15m signing of Alfie Mawson from Swansea City.
The Hillingdon-born former Brentford centre-back, 24, was on Tuesday afternoon undergoing a medical ahead of his return to west London.
He left Brentford for Barnsley and in 2016 joined Swansea, where he impressed even as the Welsh club were relegated from the Premier League last season.
Mawson, capped by England at Under-21 level, was included in the senior squad in March for internationals against Italy and the Netherlands but did not feature in either game.
His arrival will continue a summer of significant spending by Fulham, who have boosted their squad since winning promotion to the top flight in May.
The Whites sealed the signing of Aleksandar Mitrovic on Monday and have also signed Jean Michael Seri, Maxime Le Marchand, goalkeeper Fabri and former Chelsea man Andre Schurrle.
Meanwhile, Swansea are interested in Brentford midfielder Ryan Woods.
