Fulham’s Ayite suffers another hamstring injury
Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic confirmed Floyd Ayite has suffered another hamstring injury and will probably miss the forthcoming games against Nottingham Forest and QPR.
Ayite limped off late in the first half during the 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough, with a recurrence of the problem which kept him out for several weeks in August.
“It’s a hamstring again,” Jokanovic said.
“I don’t know at this moment [how long he will be out for] but if it’s the same thing we are probably going to lose him for the next two games.”
The Whites boss was generally pleased with his side’s performance against Middlesbrough, despite throwing away victory in the closing minutes for the third home game this season.
But he admitted they lacked composure in both penalty boxes are key times, following poor finishing and a defensive lapse for Boro’s equaliser.
“I cannot be satisfied with the result but, on another side, we are a bit closer to our maximum level,” he said.
“We created many things, we dominated the game, we scored an important goal in an important moment for us.
“I don’t know how many times we shot on target but we arrived a minimum 20 times in the last third and didn’t finish it.
“We didn’t find so many problems in our defensive line. But at the end, this last situation, we had the chance to clear the ball one time, second time, third time, fourth time.
“If you don’t do this, you are in a dangerous situation. This is the only moment during the game where they bring so many people into the box and put us under some pressure.”
