Bournemouth 2 Fulham 0
Fulham suffered a defeat at the hands of the Championship leaders despite a spirited second-half performance.
Bret Pitman gave Bournemouth an early lead and had a penalty saved by Marcus Bettinelli before Harry Arter’s late goal sealed the home side’s victory.
Fulham were dealt an early blow when Pitman headed in from Matt Ritchie’s corner after only nine minutes.
Pitman had a chance to score again early in the second half but his spot-kick was kept out by Bettinelli after Jack Grimmer had fouled Callum Wilson.
Fulham went in search of an equaliser and went close when great work by Ross McCormack set up Scott Parker, whose deflected shot went narrowly wide.
But the Cherries were worthy winners and doubled their lead when Arter, who earlier had an effort saved by Bettinelli, fired home from near the edge of the area.
