Fulham goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg has joined Southampton on a season-long loan deal.
The Dutch international, 32, spent last term at Monaco following the Whites’ relegation from the Premier League.
However he was back-up to first-choice keeper Danijel Subasic and played just one league game, while sitting on the bench for the duration of their run to the Champions League quarter-finals.
Southampton were tipped to sign another goalkeeper with England’s Fraser Forster likely to miss a large chunk of next season with a serious knee injury.
Argentine Paulo Gazzaniga and 38-year-old Kelvin Davis will be Stekelenburg’s competition at St. Mary’s next season.
He has played 21 times for Fulham since signing from Roma in June 2013, when he signed a four-year contract.
