Fulham in talks with former Chelsea man Clarke
Fulham are in discussions with Steve Clarke after making an approach to Reading.
The 52-year-old former Chelsea man was appointed as Reading manager only 11 months ago but could be set for a return to west London as Kit Symons’ successor.
Fulham, who sacked Symons earlier this month, are keen to appoint a head coach before the weekend and have been in talks with ex-Leicester manager Nigel Pearson.
They moved for Scotsman Clarke after negotiations with Pearson stalled.
Clarke spent 11 years as a Chelsea player and later served the club as a coach and assistant manager.
He had an 18-month spell as West Brom manager and has also been assistant boss at Liverpool, Newcastle and West Ham.
