Mitrovic still not fully fit – Silva
Fulham boss Marco Silva says striker Aleksandar Mitrovic is still not fully fit despite playing for Serbia at the World Cup.
The striker has been nursing a foot injury which forced him to miss the games against Manchester City and Manchester United prior to the break and left him in doubt for the World Cup.
But despite Mitrovic playing in all three of his country’s World Cup games, Silva says he is a doubt for the game against Crystal Palace on Boxing Day.
“He had the issue in his foot before the World Cup and missed the last two games. Of course, he recovered and played some games in the World Cup, but not fully fit,” Silva said.
“We are trying to get him into his best physical condition again to see if he is fit for Crystal Palace. If not for Crystal Palace, then probably for the next one.”
Left-backs Antonee Robinson and Layvin Kurzawa are also doubtful for the clash, with Robinson returning from playing for the USA at the World Cup with a minor foot issue which is being monitored day to day.
Neeskens Kebano, meanwhile, remains out long-term after rupturing his Achilles.
