Fulham boss Rene Meulensteen said his side’s dramatic 2-2 draw at Manchester United proved they still have a fighting chance of staying up.
The Whites, bottom of the Premier League, led through Steve Sidwell’s strike before United scored two late goals in as many minutes.
But Darren Bent’s injury-time equaliser rescued point for Fulham, who are at home to in-form Liverpool on Wednesday.
Meulensteen said: “United kept on creating chances and crosses but we held them.
“It was our intention to stay deep. When you are in a situation like this you know confidence is not the highest. We focused on keeping our shape and defending well.
“We thought at the end it was going to slip away from us – all of the hard work that we had done – but at the end to score that felt like a winner.
“The important thing is that we got a point. Some people classified us as dead and buried.”
