Fulham beat Blues to secure first win
Birmingham City 1 Fulham 2
Hugo Rodaellega grabbed the winner as Fulham came from behind to earn their first victory of the season and climb away from the foot of the Championship table.
David Cotterill’s strike put Birmingham ahead before the break but Tim Hoogland’s deflected shot drew the Whites level
And Rodallega netted from a tight angle to ensure the visitors took all three points – their first away from home this term.
The Whites started brightly and Bryan Ruiz and Ross McCormack both looked busy and dangerous early on.
McCormack almost scored his fourth goal of the season with a stunning 35-yard free-kick but the hosts were also threatening in the final third.
Cotterill had already gone close before he curled curled a superb opener after cutting in from the wing.
Blues, managed by former Fulham midfielder Lee Clark, began to get on top after the interval but Hoogland equalised slightly against the run of play.
Bulgaria international Nikolay Bodurov made a mess of a long-range effort but the ball fell kindly to Hoogland, who scored via a deflection.
And Rodallega completed the comeback when he followed up to score from a tight angle and the Whites held on for first win in nine league fixtures.
Fulham have now won two of their three games since Felix Magath was sacked and Kit Symons took over as caretaker boss.
