Jokanovic keen to keep hold of Sessegnon

Slavisa Jokanovic has reiterated Fulham’s determination to hang onto teenager Ryan Sessegnon for the foreseeable future.

The 17-year-old has been the subject of reported interest from several clubs, including Tottenham and Paris St-Germain, since the transfer window re-opened earlier this week.

Asked about Sessegnon’s future following the Whites’ FA Cup defeat to Southampton, Jokanovic said: “I don’t have any information. We don’t want to sell him.”

Sessegnon is the club’s top scorer, with seven goals this season, but neither he nor his team-mates were able to find the net as the Saints triumphed 1-0 at Craven Cottage.

James Ward-Prowse netted the only goal of the game after half an hour and Jokanovic admitted that his side lacked quality against their top-flight opponents.

“When we play against a Premier League team we must be clinical,” added the Whites boss. “We didn’t make more of what we had.

“Sometimes it depends on the small things. In one situation Southampton showed their quality and scored the goal.”
