Spurs move towards deal to sign Dembele
Tottenham are edging closer to a deal to sign Moussa Dembele for a fee in the region of £5m.
Dembele’s contract expires at the end of the season and he has refused to sign a new deal at Craven Cottage.
A number of clubs have been linked with the 19-year-old forward and Spurs have been in discussions with Fulham over a potential deal.
There has been speculation that the Whites would insist on Dembele being loaned back to them for the rest of the campaign. But Spurs are not keen on such an agreement and Fulham are willing to sell without one being put in place.
Dembele has scored 11 goals this season and a total of 13 in his 37 appearances for Fulham, who signed him from Paris St-Germain in 2012.
As Dembele is under 24 and counts as a homegrown player, Fulham would be entitled to compensation if he joins another club when his contract expires.
His agent has held discussions over a pre-contract agreement with Monaco and Wolfsburg. French media reports have suggested that Monaco are close to agreeing a deal.
