Aleksandar Mitrovic headed in a late winner to hand Fulham their first victory back in the Premier League.

Fulham had found themselves 2-0 up inside the first 20 minutes thanks to goals from Bobby De Cordova-Reid and Joao Palhinha, before Christian Norgaard got one back before the break.

Ivan Toney then equalised in the second half before Mitrovic powered home a header in added time to secure the three points.

Fulham had the perfect start when their first attack saw Jay Stansfield’s deflected shot come back off the woodwork before De Cordova Reid turned in the rebound from close range.

And it was 2-0 on 20 minutes when Palhinha rose highest to head Andreas Pereira’s corner beyond David Raya.

The Bees scored from their own corner moments before half-time, however. Mathias Jensen’s ball found an unmarked Norgaard to smash home a brilliant volley at the near post.

Fulham should have found themselves 3-1 ahead when Norgaard’s loose backpass sent Mitrovic through on goal but he was unable to beat Raya.

And it was Brentford who found the next goal of the game as Yoane Wissa’s low ball across goal was tapped in by Toney from a couple of yards out.

But Mitrovic struck his third of the season by heading in substitute Kevin Mbabu’s deep cross to give boss Marco Silva a first win of the season.
