Fulham head coach Slavisa Jokanovic wants to sign former Sunderland striker Asamoah Gyan on loan from Chinese side Shanghai SIPG.
Turkish club Besiktas are showing a strong interest in the 30-year-old, who made 34 league appearances, scoring 10 goals, during a two-year spell at Sunderland.
However, the Ghana international has indicated that he would like to return to England.
He left Sunderland to join United Arab Emirates outfit Al-Ain in 2011, initially on loan.
Gyan spent four seasons there before moving to China last year.
Prior to his spell in the Premier League he played in Italy and France, for Udinese and Rennes respectively.
He is one of a number of players Jokanovic has urged Fulham to sign during disagreements with the club’s hierarchy over transfer policy.
