Fans deserved Fulham win – Jokanovic
Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic dedicated the 5-0 thrashing of Huddersfield to the club’s fans – but warned the job of turning his side into promotion challengers is not done yet.
Chris Martin scored twice, with additional goals from Tomas Kalas, Lucas Piazon and Kevin McDonald, as the Whites celebrated their biggest win since August 2012.
Jokanovic said: “We played a very good game. I am very happy for my players and I am very happy for the fans.
“They deserve it after many weeks without offering them enough at Craven Cottage.
“Generally I have to be satisfied with many things. We played with energy, with personality and with desire – with these few things we can make important things.”
Jokanovic stressed, however, that he would not be getting carried away by a one-off performance and wanted his players to focus on knitting together as a unit.
He said: “We have to be satisfied with what we did today but at the same time we have to be ready for everything that is in front of us.
“We are in some kind of learning process, we are trying to build some kind of identity.
“It’s very important for us to believe we are a good team, believe we can play good football.
“In a few days is a big derby for us – with the attitude, personality and the energy we showed we can be optimistic and thinking about positive things when we play against Brentford.”
