Fulham are confident they will extend the loan of Middlesbrough defender James Husband for a further month.
The 21-year-old left-back was signed on a month-long deal in August and has impressed in his three subsequent appearances.
Husband’s current loan deal is due to expire after Friday’s west London derby at home to QPR, after which Kit Symons will look for the green light from Boro to keep him at Craven Cottage.
“I’d like to extend Hubby’s loan. He’s come in and done really well and we would like to keep him here longer,” Whites boss Symons said.
“Luke Garbutt is back in full training now and we’re going to need a strong squad for this challenge in the Championship.
“It’s tough and we are going to lose players through injuries or suspensions, and we’re going to need a really strong squad.
“Hubby’s been brilliant and I’m delighted we’ve got him. The longer we can keep him that would be great.”
