Whites keeper expecting to go out on loan
Fulham goalkeeper Jesse Joronen says he has been told he will be sent out on loan, despite an impressive display in the pre-season win over Crystal Palace.
The 23-year-old Finn was given his chance with David Button and Marcus Bettinelli carrying minor injuries and not risked before Friday’s Championship opener with Newcastle.
Joronen had a spell on loan at Stevenage last season, having previously been with Cambridge United and Maidenhead, and is expecting to be farmed out again.
He told Fulham’s official website: “[Goalkeeping Coach] Tim Flowers has already mentioned that the plan is for me to go out on loan, but it was very nice to get a game at the Cottage.
“Even though it was a friendly, it was my first win for the club, so I’m delighted.
“I think the result is a good platform to go into the season. We’ve got a big game on Friday so it was good to get a win.”
