Fulham in ‘really good place’ – Christensen
Fulham midfielder Lasse Vigen Christensen says the team is in a “really good place” and praised the quality of the training sessions with the new season less than two weeks away.
Slavisa Jokanovic’s side are currently in the Algarve as they sharpen their preparations for a gruelling Championship campaign.
And Christensen feels the intensity of the sessions will benefit the players when the going gets tough in mid-winger.
He told the club’s official website: “The boys are working hard and we’re in a really good place individually and as a team.
“We did some good drills on Sunday where we worked on one-v-ones and two-v-twos and focused on working in pairs to try to avoid being isolated.
“For attackers, this is great as you get to have a lot of runs towards the defenders. It’s a lot of hard work for the defenders but that’s what we need, to get that balance of good defensive play, but also being very sharp.”
Christensen came on as a substitute against Betis but is aiming for more action when Fulham take on Madeira-based CD Nacional on Monday.
He said: “It was good to get some minutes the other day and hopefully I can get some more against Nacional.
“There are big differences in games in pre-season where a lot of players play. Sometimes it breaks up the rhythm in games but just to get out there is important.
“Pre-season is geared towards moving in the right direction as a team and working on some things that you can’t really do in season.”
