Middlesbrough midfielder Adam Forshaw has said he expects Fulham to be tough opponents on Saturday.
Boro are one of four teams scrapping it out for the two automatic promotion spots in the Championship, with just two games remaining.
And former Brentford star Forshaw believes Fulham, who are now mathematically safe, will want to put in a good performance in their last home game of a difficult season.
He told his club’s website: “They haven’t had a great year so maybe this is a time for them to make a good game of it.
“They’re a good team, they have good players and it’s a good club but it’s tough to put your finger on it [why Fulham have struggled].
“It’s been proven that teams that have come down can struggle. Obviously the teams that have come down, their momentum isn’t great.
“Then the teams that come up – especially this year with sides like Brentford and Wolves – have proven that momentum can take you quite far in the other direction.”
Forshaw though said he felt Middlesbrough were more than capable of securing a victory that would pile the pressure on front-runners Watford and Bournemouth.
He said: “We’ve just got to approach the Fulham game as we have with all of our games this season and we’re more than confident that we can go and get the three points if we do everything right.”
