Fulham boss Kit Symons believes a potential trip to Sunderland will act as an incentive for his side in Tuesday’s FA Cup third-round replay with Wolves.
The Whites head to Molineux after a goalless draw in the original fixture 10 days ago.
And Symons said, if they were to win, he would look forward to the chance to test his young side against Premier League opposition.
He said: “We’ll go into the cup game really positive.
“There’s an away tie at Sunderland at the end of it for the winners so that’s a carrot. I’d fancy that one. But we need to make sure we win this one first.”
Symons will make changes following Saturday’s league defeat at Cardiff, with Alexander Kacaniklic and Ryan Tunnicliffe ineligible after not being registered in time for the first game.
He added: “We have to dust ourselves down and crack on again.
“We got the boys in on Sunday and had a look at everyone, assessed how people are, got them all tested, saw how they’re feeling and what their recovery is like.”
