Fulham v Watford player ratings
Fulham recovered from a dismal first-half performance to earn a point at home to Watford. Here’s how we rated each Whites player in the 1-1 draw at Craven Cottage.
Marcus Bettinelli: 7
Beaten early on, though no fault of his own. Made a great save to deny Andre Gray a second goal during a one-sided first half, keeping his side in the game, and another at 1-1.
Timothy Fosu-Mensah: 6
Lucky to avoid seeing red after a high lunge on Troy Deeney. One slide-rule pass almost produced a goal for Aleksabdar Mitrovic and he ventured forward more as the game wore on.
Alfie Mawson: 5
Won some crucial headers, but was given a torrid examination by Deeney and Andre Gray and was yellow-carded for one lunging tackle. Traded in for Dennis Odoi at the interval.
Calum Chambers: 6
Restored to the starting XI to shore up a leaky defence and was immediately under pressure and looking uncomfortable from high balls. But he stuck to the task well.
Ryan Sessegnon: 6
Given the left-back detail, which undermined his threat as a winger. In the wars late on after taking a painful knock on the nose.
Kevin McDonald: 5
Seemed overwhelmed by Watford’s powerful midfield runners. Withdrawn at half time, as Slavisa Jokanovic introduced an extra attacker in Floyd Ayite.
Jean Micheal Seri: 6
Far more prominent after the break following an anonymous first half, and offered some of the passing control clearly missing in the continued absence of the injured Tom Cairney.
Luciano Vietto: 6
An assist for the equaliser masked a sometimes diffident performance. Missed a great chance to open his Fulham account in a one-on-one that ended in a shot into Ben Foster’s chest, and a chip from the rebound which drifted wide.
Stefan Johansen: 5
Really struggled to get into the match. Often swamped and under pressure the moment he got the ball. Made way for Anguissa just past the hour.
Andre Schurrle: 6
Industrious as ever, without quite managing to light the blue touch paper, as he did in the previous Premier League home match against Burnley.
Aleksandar Mitrovic: 8
You can never keep a good man down. Often cut a frustrated figure in the first half, but touched in the equaliser and almost bagged a winner with a curler and header that was tipped onto the bar. A monster the air
Denis Odoi: 6
On for Mawson at half time. His arrival coincided with an improved display by the Whites, but lucky not to have the examination Mawson faced when the visitors were at their best.
Floyd Ayite: 5
Introduced to create a greater attacking threat and his arrival seemed to lift fans and players alike, even if his own contribution was modest.
Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa: 6
Un-fussy presence but important in checking Watford’s marauding midfield during a much-improved second half for the hosts.
