Scott Parker hailed his players after Ivan Cavaleiro’s brilliant late goal gave Fulham a deserved victory.
Aleksandar Mitrovic headed them ahead early in the second half but Huddersfield hit back with Karlan Grant’s equaliser.
Terriers keeper Kamil Garbara produced a number of saves to keep Fulham at bay but was beaten by on-loan Wolves winger Cavaleiro’s curling shot into the far corner with 10 minutes remaining.
Mitrovic had pounced on an appalling mistake by Juninho Bacuna to open the scoring.
In attempting to clear the danger near the right-hand byline, Bacuna bizarrely hoofed the ball towards the far post, where Mitrovic got in front of Tommy Elphick to score from close range.
Fulham, with teenage right-back Steven Sessegnon making his league debut, were pegged back by Grant’s header from Florent Hadergjonaj’s cross.
But Parker’s side responded in style to clinch their second win in a row.
The result prompted Huddersfield, without a win since February, to sack manager Jan Siewert.
Fulham, on the other hand, have bounced back superbly from an opening-day defeat at Barnsley.
“We are getting to grips with the league and we are learning what it’s like,” Whites boss Parker said.
“We got a wake-up call against Barnsley and have been superb since. The last two results have been fantastic.”
