Stories in Tuesday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs…
Tottenham are closing in on a deal to sign Ryan Sessegnon from Fulham, the Daily Mail reports.
Spurs have long been keen on the Whites youngster – West London Sport initially revealed their interest in him more than two years ago – and are expected to make an approach for him this summer.
The Mail say Fulham want £40m for the teenager and that Spurs are looking to pay £25m, but that a deal is expected to be reached for Sessegnon to move to north London in the coming days.
The newspaper declare that Paris St-Germain also want Sessegnon but that Spurs are in “pole position” to sign him.
Meanwhile, Ruben Loftus-Cheek is stalling over a new contract because he wants assurances about his chances of regular first-team football, according to The Sun.
Chelsea are keen for Loftus-Cheek to sign a new deal at Stamford Bridge, where he has two years remaining on his current contract.
He previously indicated he would look to move on if he continued to be overlooked.
Loftus-Cheek has since been much more involved in the first team, but The Sun say he wants to be confident this is likely to continue before committing his future to the club.
And there continues to be speculation over the future of Eden Hazard, with several newspapers reporting that he looks set to leave Chelsea for Real Madrid.
