The transfer stories in Sunday’s newspapers involving the area’s clubs…
Fulham want to sign Liverpool right-back Nathaniel Clyne on loan, the Sunday Mirror reports.
The newspaper say the Whites and Leicester are keen on Clyne but that Cardiff City are favourites to snap him up.
The England international previously played under Cardiff boss Neil Warnock at Crystal Palace.
There continues to be speculation over the future of Gary Cahill.
The defender has been tipped to leave Chelsea next month, having been out of favour under Blues boss Maurizio Sarri.
He has been linked with a number of clubs ahead of the transfer window, including Arsenal.
The Sunday Express claim Inter Milan want him and have launched a bid to “hijack” Arsenal’s supposed move for Cahill.
A number of Sunday’s newspapers declare that Alvaro Morata’s future at Chelsea looks even bleaker after comments by Sarri.
Sarri was asked if he regarded Eden Hazard as his best option as a centre-forward.
He said: “In the last matches I prefer this solution. For the future everything is open.
“I think that Alvaro is better in the box and better to attack spaces but I have to say Eden is improving.
“It’s different as Eden is better when he comes to play with the midfielders and opens spaces. He’s another way of playing.”
It is claimed that Lazio could make a move for Chelsea defender Davide Zappacosta.
The Sunday Mirror say Zappacosta has been lined up by Lazio as a possible alternative signing if they are unable to agree a deal for Manchester United’s Matteo Darmian, who has been linked with the Rome club.
Chelsea have been told they must pay £30m if they want to sign Bayern Munich defender Mats Hummels, The Sun on Sunday say.
It follows recent reports which claimed that the Germany centre-back is a Blues transfer target.
